Advantages of contract manufacturing for encapsulation jobs

Encapsulation, in the pharmaceutical industry, is the technique of enclosing medicines into a form of capsule. There are two types of capsules, which are broadly classified as hard-shelled and soft-shelled capsules.

Manufacturers follow certain cGMP principles to maintain the standard and safety quality of the products. Encapsulation has changed the way people think about medication because of its convenience. Contract manufacturing has a huge role in the development of this process. In fact, this kind of manufacturing is mutually beneficial to both the party that produces the medicine and the other who is responsible for completing the job. The latter can also handle packaging, labeling and distribution.

On one hand, contract manufacturing allows the medicine-producer to focus on its products. It has no need for building additional facilities or developing a skilled workforce. For small organizations, this is the best solution. They do not have to worry about infrastructure, license or other raw materials.

The contract manufacturer eases the entire process of production and distribution on the other hand. It maintains its own facilities, conforming to industry norms and guidelines. One of the most important factors in its job is to respond to the customer’s demands and offer the service of encapsulation at a competitive price.

Benefits of Contract Manufacturing Services

A number of large and small sized companies are there that have been working harder to extend their markets. For them, it is important to make a perfect balance between different requirements related to production, quality control, cost savings, equipment and other activities. And to avoid any associated risks, they prefer acquiring professional assistance of contract manufacturing companies.

Leading contract manufacturing firms are known to work on their self defined core competencies and some useful regulations to serve the clients with following benefits.
Advanced skills

The service providers make use of advanced skills as they likely to have better relation with leading raw materials suppliers and a team of skilled professionals, researchers and quality controllers.

Money saving

Opting for a service expert is money saving as service providers come featured with all such equipment and technical tools that are required for activities like manufacturing strategy, production planning, tracking materials and much more.

Quality concerns

In contract manufacturing and other services like encapsulation or tableting, the service experts always keep into account that their work standards and strategies match with manufacturer’s standards. They evaluate their manufacturing and testing methods to analyze the quality of finished products.

Conclusively, contract manufacturing services are beneficial for all sized pharmaceutical and other types of companies.

Benefits of Encapsulation by Tablets Manufacturers

The process of encapsulation should be preceded by many other processes. To formulate an idea, to check its feasibility, move forward with the research process are some of those. Therefore, companies prefer to hand over the process of encapsulation to contract tablets manufacturers.

The tablets manufacturers make sure that they strictly follow all the guidelines that are laid down by the regulatory bodies. The manufacturing companies also have their own research and development wing to continually enhance the process of encapsulation. The manufacturers also make sure that they keep developing and following latest trend,; thereby be able to meet the changing guidelines of the regulatory bodies.

As major benefits of employing contract manufacturer for the process of encapsulation, the companies do not require to setup their own manufacturing plants. They also do not need to keep evolving their manufacturing and quality control processes to be able to meet to the changing guidelines laid out by the regulatory bodies. Moreover, the contract manufacturers not only provide quality encapsulation service to the companies, they also provide other services like packaging, labeling.

Enteric Coating Tablets Support Digestive Tract

Film coatings of the tablet are responsible for the safety and effectiveness of tablets. The active ingredients used in the films are meant to keep the tablets protected against light, heat and moisture and various other harmful influences during storage and transport and up to the consumption by the patients.

It is a film coating which is responsible for swallowing of drug, improving therapeutic efficiency, and prevents undesirable effects. And this is done by controlling dissolution in the gastrointestinal tract or through a film coating of graded permeability that ensures release of active ingredients in digestive tract regions.

Enteric polymer films are known to get dissolved between pH 5.5 and 6.5 and this actually stops the premature intestinal tract. disintegration in the stomach. With this pH value, the tablet gets dissolved in the digestive tract.

Health and safety are two major concerns for tablet formulation and this is the reason why leading contract manufacturers have opted for enteric coating methods. The disintegration time of the polymer films increase and this make sure the tablet to reach to the actual position where it needs to be dissolved. Thus, enteric property is given priority over the appearance of tablets by the manufacturers.

Tablet Manufacturing Through Wet Granulation Process

Contract manufacturing process involves a lot of steps that can be customized as per the specific requirement of the clients. This gives you the flexibility to choose the process that suits your needs and also allows the contract manufacturer to meet to your specific demands without compromising on the quality. Therefore, contractors utilize three major processes of manufacturing tablets. The most common of the process is wet granulation process.

The other two major processes are direct compression and dry granulation. Out of the three processes, wet granulation method is considered most accurate. However, there are certain innovations that are advised by the research and development team of every manufacturer to better the process, but the basic steps remain the same.

The major steps in wet granulation method of tablet manufacturing involve the following.

Milling
The carrier substance that is inactive in terms of medicinal values is mixed with drugs in the required quantity.

Preparation
A binding solution is prepared to be used for further process.

Wetting
The whole mixture is then mixed with granulation solvent or some other binding solution.

Screening
The total wet mass of the mixture is then calculated.

Drying
The prepared mixture is converted into granules and dried after its wet mass is measured.

Screening of granules
The dried granules are then screened for their dry weight.

Blending
The dried and screened granules are then mixed with lubricants to disintegrate the granules. In this process the granules are converted into powders.

Compression
The disintegrated granules changed into powders are then compressed into tablets of desired size, shape and weight.

Once the manufacturing process is complete, the contract tablet manufacturers also label the tablets and pack them as per your specific requirements.
